1.My Studies and Life at NPU

My journey at Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU) began in 2022 as an MSc student in Material Science at the Frontiers Science Center for Flexible Electronics (FSCFE). From the moment I arrived in Xi’an, I was embraced by a vibrant academic community that values innovation and collaboration. Under the mentorship of esteemed supervisors—Professor Peng Li and Associate Professor Wang Tengjiao—I delved into groundbreaking research on 3D-printed porous flexible electrodes for wound healing, a project that bridges advanced materials science with transformative medical applications.
Beyond the lab, NPU became a hub for cultural exchange and personal growth. Leading a 15-member team in the 2024 National Innovation Competition on 3D-printed EEG electrodes taught me the power of teamwork. “Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much,” as Helen Keller once said. Organizing workshops for the China International Students’ Competition allowed me to connect with peers from diverse backgrounds, fostering mutual learning and friendship. As an interpreter for international student’s summer program, I guided others through NPU’s cutting-edge facilities, while also absorbing insights from their unique perspectives. At the Shaanxi Graduate Innovation Exhibition, I showcase my achievement on sustainable bioelectronics which deepened my appreciation for China’s role in global scientific dialogue— “Innovation is seeing what everyone has seen and thinking what no one has thought,” a principle echoed by Albert Szent-Györgyi.
2.Academic Achievements

At NPU, my research focused on pioneering flexible bioelectronics to address pressing healthcare challenges. I developed patient-specific 3D-printed electrodes from chitin, optimizing their conductivity and flexibility for electrical stimulation therapy in chronic wound healing. This work led to multiple publications in high-impact journals such as Advanced Functional Materials, Advances in Colloid and Interface Science, and Small Methods, where I highlighted the potential of sustainable biomaterials in personalized medicine.
Collaborating with likeminded colleagues, I spearheaded the establishment of Shaanxi Harmony Fuying Technology Co., Ltd., blending academic rigor with entrepreneurial vision. My academic journey was further honored with awards like the NPU Presidential Graduate Scholarship, Wu Yajun Special scholarship, Star of Academic Award, Outstanding graduate award and Shaanxi Graduate Innovation Achievement First Prize. These milestones, paired with the wisdom of Isaac Newton— “If I have seen further, it is by standing on the shoulders of giants”—remind me of the collective effort behind every breakthrough.
3.My Feelings for NPU and China

Living and studying in China has been a transformative chapter of my life. NPU’s state-of-the-art facilities, coupled with the unwavering support of my supervisors, provided a fertile ground for innovation. Xi’an, with its rich history and modernity, became a second home where I learned to balance rigorous academics with cultural exploration—whether marveling at the Terracotta Warriors or sharing stories of Ghana during campus festivals.
China’s emphasis on collaboration and technological advancement reshaped my worldview. The warmth of my Chinese peers, who often invited me to discuss everything from biomaterials to African folklore, reinforced my belief in education as a bridge between nations. As I prepare to graduate, I carry forward the words of Kofi Annan: “Knowledge is power. Information is liberating. Education is the premise of progress, in every society, in every family.” I aim to advance flexible bioelectronics while mentoring African students, encouraging them to pursue opportunities in China. My dream is to see NPU’s spirit of innovation inspire a generation of global scientists united in solving humanity’s greatest challenges.
