My name is Bun Thevuth Ketekun, and I am honored to be recognized as a 2025 Outstanding Graduate of Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU). Being part of this prestigious institution has been a transformative experience that has shaped my academic and personal growth in ways I never imagined.
1.Studies and Life at NPU
Coming from Cambodia, I arrived at NPU in 2022 during a challenging time—the world was still dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic. Traveling to China required me to undergo a one-month quarantine before I could finally step onto the NPU campus. Despite these difficulties, the university provided full support in every step of the process, ensuring that I felt welcome and cared for.
At NPU, I had the privilege of working with exceptional professors and mentors who guided me throughout my Master’s studies in Civil Engineering. Their expertise, patience, and encouragement allowed me to excel academically and develop a deeper understanding of my field. I also built meaningful friendships with my classmates and Chinese partners, who helped me integrate into the culture and made my experience even more fulfilling. These relationships were not just academic but also personal, as we shared knowledge, culture, and unforgettable moments together.
2.Academic Achievements
During my time at Northwestern Polytechnical University (NPU), I dedicated myself to both academic excellence and active participation in university programs.
Beyond my coursework, I actively contributed to peer tutoring and mentoring. Since 2023, I have been a Peer Tutor at the International College of NPU, helping international students master Calculus, Linear Algebra, and Differential Equations. My dedication in this role was recognized when I was awarded the Star of Peer Tutor Team Award (2024) for my contributions to student academic success.
Additionally, I had the honor of serving as a Student Ambassador of Cambodia at NPU since 2023, facilitating collaboration between universities and assisting with international student engagement. For my contributions, I was recognized with the Star of Dreams Collection Award (2024) and the Outstanding Contribution Award of International Student Ambassador (2024). 
3.Feelings for NPU and China
My journey at NPU has been nothing short of extraordinary. Beyond academics, I have developed a profound appreciation for China’s culture, innovation, and hospitality. From exploring historical landmarks to embracing the local way of life, I have felt a deep connection with this beautiful country.
Northwestern Polytechnical University has not just been my academic institution—it has been my second home. The university’s dedication to excellence, innovation, and global collaboration has inspired me to push boundaries and strive for greatness. I am grateful for the opportunities, friendships, and memories that I have made here, and I will carry the spirit of NPU with me wherever I go.
I love China. I love Northwestern Polytechnical University. Thank you, NPU, for an unforgettable journey!
