At Northwestern Polytechnical University, every graduation season carries stories of hard work, growth, and meaningful transformation. For international students, this journey often begins far from home, in a new country, a new academic environment, and a new culture. Over time, classrooms, laboratories, libraries, campus activities, and friendships become part of a larger story of learning and personal development.

This year, a group of international master's students has been recognized as Outstanding Graduates. Their selection reflects not only strong academic performance, but also research achievements, active participation in university life, personal growth, and their contributions to the international student community at NPU.

Because each journey deserves to be shared with care, this feature will be presented in two parts. In Part One, we introduce eight outstanding master's graduates from different countries and academic fields. Their stories show how NPU has supported international students in research, innovation, cultural exchange, and future career development.

在西北工业大学,每一个毕业季都承载着关于努力、成长与蜕变的故事。对于留学生而言,这段旅程往往始于远离家乡的地方,面对一个新的国家、新的学术环境和新的文化。随着时间的推移,课堂、实验室、图书馆、校园活动和友谊,都逐渐成为他们学习与成长故事中重要的一部分。

今年,一批硕士留学生脱颖而出,被评选为优秀毕业生。这份荣誉不仅体现了他们优异的学业表现,也体现了他们在科研成果、校园生活参与、个人成长以及对西北工业大学国际学生群体贡献方面的突出表现。

因为每一段旅程都值得被认真讲述,本次专题将分为两篇进行展示。在第一篇中,我们将介绍来自不同国家和学科领域的八位优秀硕士毕业生。他们的故事展现了西北工业大学如何在科研、创新、文化交流和未来发展方面支持国际学生成长。

Piatnitskaia Aleksandra 欣薇

Piatnitskaia Aleksandra, also known as 欣薇, is from Russia and studied Business Administration at NPU. For her, NPU became much more than a university. It became a second home, where she completed her language courses, bachelor's degree, and master's degree, growing through years of study, friendship, and cultural exchange.

During her time at NPU, Aleksandra actively contributed to campus life through cultural events, student coordination, Model United Nations activities, exchange student mentoring, volunteer work, and international student support. She also represented the International College in swimming competitions, winning first place and a gold medal. Her participation in cultural festivals, media interviews, workshops, and student activities made her an important bridge between communities.

After graduation, she plans to work in the field of international cooperation between Russia and China, helping strengthen bilateral relations and bringing people from different cultures closer together.

Piatnitskaia Aleksandra,中文名欣薇,来自俄罗斯,在西北工业大学获工商管理硕士学位。对她而言,西北工业大学早已超越一所普通大学的意义,成为她的第二故乡。在这里,她完成了语言课程、本科和硕士阶段的学习,并在多年的学习探索、友谊积淀与跨文化交流中不断成长。

在西工大求学期间,欣薇通过文化活动、学生事务协调、模拟联合国活动、交换生指导、志愿服务等多元途径,积极融入校园生活。她还曾代表国际教育学院出征游泳赛场,勇夺第一名及金牌佳绩。凭借在文化节、媒体采访、工作坊与各类学生活动中的深度参与,使她成为连接不同群体、促进跨文化交流的重要桥梁。

毕业后,她计划从事俄罗斯与中国国际合作相关领域的工作,致力于促进两国关系发展,让来自不同文化背景的人们更加紧密地联系在一起。

Ali Haider

Ali Haider, from Pakistan, completed his master's degree in Mechanical Engineering at Northwestern Polytechnical University. His research focused on the design and optimization of point-absorber wave energy converters, including novel buoy geometries and hybrid power take-off systems.

During his studies, Ali was selected for the Outstanding Graduate Award and submitted a first-author research paper to Ocean Engineering. He also attended ICGA 2025, the 3rd International Conference on Green Energy in Xi'an, and completed an internship as an Assistant Mechanical Engineer at a multinational company.

Life at NPU helped him grow academically and personally. He enjoyed campus life, collaborated with labmates from diverse backgrounds, explored Xi'an's history and culture, and improved his Chinese to HSK 4 level. In the future, he hopes to contribute to renewable energy engineering and sustainable offshore power solutions.

Ali Haider,来自巴基斯坦,在西北工业大学获机械工程专业硕士学位。他的研究方向是点吸收式波浪能转换器的设计与优化,包含新型浮体结构和混合动力输出系统两个重要模块。

在校期间,Ali 被评为优秀毕业生,并以第一作者身份向 Ocean Engineering 期刊提交了研究论文。他还参加了在西安举办的 2025 年第三届绿色能源国际会议,并在一家跨国公司完成实习,担任助理机械工程师。

在西北工业大学的求学经历,让Ali在学术与个人层面实现双重成长。他融入并享受丰富的校园生活,与来自不同背景的实验室同学紧密协作。他深入探索西安的历史文化底蕴,深入了解中国文化,并将中文水平提升至HSK 4级。

未来,他将投身可再生能源工程领域,为波浪能技术和可持续海上能源解决方案的发展作出贡献。

Nazir Ahmed

Nazir Ahmed, from Pakistan, graduated with a Master of Science degree from the School of Materials Science at Northwestern Polytechnical University. His research focused on the structural optimization and potential energy surface of AgNi nanoalloys using Deep Reinforcement Learning. Through this work, he gained valuable experience in computational materials science, machine learning applications, and atomic-scale simulations.

At NPU, Nazir found a strong research environment with well-equipped laboratories, supportive professors, and helpful labmates. His time in Xi'an also allowed him to experience Chinese culture, taste local food, celebrate traditional festivals, and build friendships with students from different countries.

Looking ahead, Nazir hopes to continue his academic journey by pursuing a PhD and becoming a researcher in computational materials science. His long-term goal is to contribute to nanoalloy design, energy materials, and the application of machine learning in both academic and industrial research.

Nazir Ahmed,来自巴基斯坦,,在西北工业大学获材料学专业硕士学位。他的研究方向是利用深度强化学习对 AgNi 纳米合金进行结构优化和势能面研究。

在西工大,Nazir 感受到了良好的学术氛围,这里有设备完善的实验室,悉心教导的导师和乐于助人的同门学生。在西安的学习生活也让他有机会体验中国文化、品尝当地美食、庆祝中国传统节日,并与来自不同国家的同学建立深厚情谊。

未来,Nazir 将继续攻读博士学位,深入在计算材料科学领域的学术探索,并逐渐成长为该领域的专业研究员。他的长期目标是继续在纳米合金设计、能源材料以及机器学习在学术和工业研究中的应用方面作出贡献。

Israr Ali

Israr Ali, from Pakistan, completed his master's degree in Mathematics at the School of Mathematics and Statistics, Northwestern Polytechnical University. During his studies, he achieved strong academic and leadership recognition, including being awarded Outstanding Graduate of the Year 2026 and selected as an Academic Star in 2025.

His research achievements include three SCI research papers and one book chapter as first author, along with two co-authored research papers. Several other papers are also under review or submitted to different journals. He also received second prize for an oral presentation at the Third Belt and Road Academic Forum of Engineering Science and Technology and the First Shaanxi Academic Forum for International Students, as well as third prize at the 5th Graduate Forum of the School of Mathematics and Statistics.

Beyond academics, Israr served as an academic assistant, campus tour guide, and country representative in Cultural Bridge event. His journey at NPU reflects academic focus, service, and active participation in university life.

Israr Ali ,来自巴基斯坦,硕士毕业于西北工业大学数学与统计学院。在校期间,他凭借卓越的学术表现和突出的领导力素养被评为优秀毕业生,并获得2025 年学术之星的荣誉。

他的科研成果丰厚,他以第一作者身份发表 3 篇 SCI 论文和 1 个书籍章节,并共同参与发表 2 篇研究论文。此外,还有多篇论文正在不同期刊审稿或投稿中。他还积极参与各类学术论坛,曾在第三届“一带一路”工程科学与技术学术论坛暨首届陕西省来华留学生学术论坛中获得口头报告二等奖,并在西北工业大学数学与统计学院第五届研究生论坛中获得三等奖,通过学无止境的学术交流,他的科研能力也不断得到提升。

除学术研究外,Israr 还曾担任新生学术助理、校园导览员,并在“文化桥”活动中担任国家代表。他在西工大的经历体现其扎实的学术追求、无私的奉献精神和积极参与校园生活的态度。

Shafi Ullah

Shafi Ullah, from Pakistan, completed his master's degree in Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern Polytechnical University. His research focused on targeted brain drug delivery, allowing him to contribute to important work in biomedical science and therapeutic strategies.

During his studies, he participated in publishing Q1 research papers, including a first-author paper and contributed as a co-author to research on selenium-engineered supramolecular protein assemblies and extracellular vesicles of human pathogenic fungi.

Apart from research, Shafi actively participated in cultural activities and received several certificates. He also served as a student ambassador from 2024 to 2025 and received the Navigation Star Award for admission recommendation.

After graduation, he has already received admission for PhD study at NPU and aims to become a leading researcher connecting China and the global scientific community.

Shafi Ullah ,来自巴基斯坦,在西北工业大学获取生物医学工程专业硕士学位。他的研究方向是靶向脑部药物递送系统,致力于推动生物医学科学与治疗策略的前沿研究,为该领域的学术研究作出贡献。

在学习期间,他以第一作者身份发表SCI一区论文一篇,还以共同作者身份发表了有关硒工程超分子蛋白组装体和人类致病真菌细胞外囊泡的相关研究论文。

除了科研工作外,Shafi 积极参与各类校园文化活动。在 2024 至 2025 年,他担任学生大使,并因良好的招生推荐工作获得 Navigation Star Award荣誉。

毕业后,他将继续在西北工业大学攻读博士学位,立志成为推动中国与全球科学界知识互鉴、协同创新的领军学者。

Hadero Besufekad Tadele

Hadero Besufekad Tadele, from Ethiopia, completed his master's degree in Computer Science and Technology at the School of Computer Science, Northwestern Polytechnical University. His research focused on computer vision, visual SLAM, 3D reconstruction, and UAV-based mapping.

During his master's study, he explored how drones can build accurate and dense 3D maps using monocular cameras, deep learning, and 3D Gaussian Splatting. One of his research papers, "Beyond Implicit Representations: Exploring Gaussian Splatting for Next-Generation SLAM, Introduction and Review," was accepted by the IEEE Internet of Things Journal. He also worked on FFS-SLAM, a project focused on scalable SLAM for large-scale UAV mapping, and completed an internship at SquareStar Technology in Xi'an.

His time at NPU helped him become more independent, confident, and skilled in research. After graduation, he plans to pursue a PhD in computer vision, robotics, or visual SLAM, contributing to intelligent autonomous systems and large-scale mapping.

Hadero Besufekad Tadele ,来自埃塞俄比亚,在西北工业大学获计算机科学与技术专业硕士学位。他的研究方向包括计算机视觉、视觉 SLAM、三维重建和基于无人机的地图构建。

在硕士学习期间,他深入研究基于单目相机、深度学习和三维高斯泼溅技术的无人机高精度密集三维地图重建技术。他的论文“Beyond Implicit Representations: Exploring Gaussian Splatting for Next-Generation SLAM, Introduction and Review”被高水平期刊 IEEE Internet of Things Journal 接收,充分证明了他卓越的学术能力。除此之外,他还是科研与实践两手抓的行动派,他深度参与了研究面向大规模无人机地图构建的可扩展 SLAM 技术的FFS-SLAM 项目,并在西安 SquareStar Technology 公司完成了实习。

西工大的求学岁月,使他成为更加独立、自信的人,并在不断的学习实践中成长为具备良好科研能力的学术人才。

毕业后,他计划继续攻读计算机视觉、机器人或视觉 SLAM 方向的博士学位,为智能自主系统和大规模地图构建研究作出贡献。

Rukhsar Ajmal

Rukhsar Ajmal, from Pakistan, completed her master's degree in Biomedical Engineering at the Institute of Flexible Electronics, Northwestern Polytechnical University. Her research focused on advanced drug delivery systems, especially nanoparticle-based platforms designed to improve therapeutic efficiency, drug stability, bioavailability, and controlled release.

During her postgraduate studies, she contributed to a Q1 publication in ACS Applied Materials & Interfaces with an impact factor of 8.5. She was also honored as an Outstanding Graduate, received First Prize in Oral Presentation at the 3rd Belt and Road Academic Forum, and achieved a First-Class Prize at the university level for her research project. Beyond academics, Rukhsar participated in cultural events, the China-Europe Youth Dialogue on Civilization, and Sports Week activities.

After graduation, she plans to continue her PhD at NPU, further developing innovative therapeutic delivery platforms for real-world biomedical challenges.

Rukhsar Ajmal ,来自巴基斯坦,在西北工业大学获生物医学工程专业硕士学位。她的研究方向是先进药物递送系统,深入研究基于纳米颗粒的药物递送平台设计,旨在提高治疗效率、药物稳定性、生物利用度和控释效果。

在研究生学习期间,她在SCI一区 期刊发表论文一篇,其影响因子为 8.5。在科研实践中不断提升的学术能力使她在第三届"一带一路"学术论坛中获得口头报告一等奖,并在校级科研项目中获得一等奖。除此之外,Rukhsar 还积极参与校园文化活动、中欧青年文明对话及运动周等活动。

毕业后,她将继续在西北工业大学攻读博士学位。未来,她希望进一步发展创新型治疗药物递送平台,为解决现实生物医学问题作出贡献。

Abdulmoiz Ahsan

Abdulmoiz Ahsan, from Pakistan, completed his master's degree in Computer Science and Technology at Northwestern Polytechnical University. His research focused on computer vision, 3D reconstruction, neural scene representation, SLAM, and image generation, giving him a strong foundation in both academic research and engineering practice.

During his master's journey, he received the Outstanding Graduate Award, Star of Academic Achievement Award, NPU Wu Ya Jun Scholarship Second Prize. He also achieved second position at the AI Global Innovation Competition Final in 2025 and received a Best Paper Award at the 3rd Belt and Road Academic Forum. He was also a co-first author of an IEEE Internet of Things Journal paper on Gaussian Splatting for next-generation SLAM.

At NPU, Abdulmoiz grew through research, teaching, campus life, and international friendships. After graduation, he plans to continue building his career in research and development, especially in computer vision, robotics, 3D reconstruction, mapping, autonomous systems, and immersive technologies.

Abdulmoiz Ahsan ,来自巴基斯坦,在西北工业大学获算机科学与技术专业硕士学位。他的研究方向包括计算机视觉、三维重建、神经场景表示、SLAM 和图像生成,在这些领域的深入探索为他在学术研究和工程实践方面打下了坚实基础。

在硕士学习期间,他获得学术之星荣誉和西北工业大学吴亚军二等奖学金。在 2025 年 AI Global Innovation Competition 决赛中,他荣获第二名的好成绩,并凭借优异的学术写作能力在第三届“一带一路”学术论坛中获得最佳论文奖。此外,他以共同第一作者身份在IEEE Internet of Things Journal发表了一篇论文。

在西工大,Abdulmoiz 通过专业的科研与学习、丰富的校园生活和温暖国际友谊不断收获成长。

毕业后,他计划在学术研究中持续探索,为计算机视觉、机器人、三维重建、地图构建、自主系统和沉浸式技术等研究方向作出贡献。

Continuing the Story / 故事仍在继续

The eight graduates featured in Part One represent different academic fields, including business administration, mechanical engineering, materials science, mathematics, biomedical engineering, and computer science. Their achievements show that excellence can take many forms: research publications, competitions, scholarships, leadership roles, cultural exchange, volunteer service, and personal growth.

For each of them, NPU was not only a place to study, but also a place to adapt, explore, collaborate, and build confidence for the future. Their stories reflect the strength of NPU's international education environment and the spirit of students who came from different parts of the world with ambition, courage, and determination.

As they move forward into PhD study, research careers, industry, international cooperation, and future leadership, they carry with them the knowledge, friendships, and experiences gained at NPU.

Congratulations to these outstanding international master's graduates. Their journeys continue to inspire, and their next chapters are only beginning.
