西北工业大学医学研究院成立于2017年9月，由西北工业大学联合空军军医大学、陕西省人民医院三方共建。
研究院聚焦世界科技前沿，服务国家战略需求，以“建设医工结合特色鲜明的新型医科”为基本办学目标，立足传统“三航”特色与工科优势，抢抓政策机遇、夯实人才基础、凝聚学科优势，构建“医药为基、医工见长”的医学学科体系和复合型医学人才培养体系，为学校成为综合性、研究型、全球化世界一流大学提供坚实的学科支撑与人才保障。
研究院重视师资队伍建设，坚持引育并重，通过多元化人才引育，打造高水平师资队伍，现有师资50余人，其中教授20余人（含讲座教授和特聘研究员）、副教授20余人；拥有院士（双聘）2人，杰出青年基金获得者5人，优秀青年基金获得者1人,省级人才称号3人；研究院教师多数具有多年海外学习和工作经历。研究院实施PI负责制和准聘长聘人事制度，给予课题/项目责任人以较大的空间和权限。
研究院现拥有分子生物学、细胞生物学、药学、神经科学等多个科研平台，拥有一流的硬件条件，获批西安市干细胞与再生医学重点实验室。聚焦系统医学生物学、药学、神经科学、转化医学等前沿领域，开展前沿基础研究与医工交叉研究。
招收药学学术、生物与医药专业学位硕士，依托我校“生物医学工程”一级学科招收博士研究生和博士后研究人员。
现拥有西北工业大学附属陕西省人民医院、附属西安市第四人民医院两所附属医院。“临床医学“、”生物学与生物化学”进入ESI排名前1%。
医学研究院以创办国际知名、国内一流的医学院为发展愿景，以“高起点、国际化、大交叉”为发展理念，力争以全球化视野实现跨越式发展。
The Medical Research Institute of Northwestern Polytechnical University was founded in September 2017 by Northwestern Polytechnical University, Air Force Medical University and Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital.
The Institute focuses on the forefront of world science and technology, serves the national strategic needs, takes "building a new medical science with distinctive characteristics combined with medical industry" as the basic educational goal, bases on the traditional "three navigation" characteristics and engineering advantages, grasps the policy opportunities, consolidates the talent base, gathers the discipline advantages, and builds a medical discipline system and compound medical talent training system with "medicine as the base and medical industry as the best". It provides solid discipline support and talent guarantee for the university to become a comprehensive, research-oriented and globalized world-class university.
The Institute attaches great importance to the construction of teaching staff, attaches equal importance to education, and creates a high-level teaching staff through diversified talent education. There are more than 50 teachers, including more than 20 professors (including chair professors and special researchers) and more than 20 associate professors. There are 2 academicians (double employment), 5 outstanding youth fund winners, 1 Outstanding Youth Fund winners, and 3 provincial talent titles; Most of the faculty members have years of overseas study and work experience. The Institute implements the PI responsibility system and the quasi-permanent appointment personnel system, which gives the subject/project manager a larger space and authority.
The institute now has a number of research platforms in molecular biology, cell biology, pharmacy, neuroscience, etc., with first-class hardware conditions, and has been approved as Xi 'an Key Laboratory of Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine. Focus on the frontier fields of systems medical biology, pharmacy, neuroscience, translational medicine, etc., and carry out cutting-edge basic research and cross-research of medical industry.
We recruit master's degrees in pharmacy, biology and medicine, and doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers in the first-level disciplines of "Biomedical Engineering".
It now has two affiliated hospitals, Shaanxi Provincial People's Hospital affiliated to Northwestern Polytechnical University and Xi 'an Fourth People's Hospital affiliated to it. "Clinical Medicine", "Biology and Biochemistry" entered the top 1% of ESI ranking.
With the development vision of establishing an internationally renowned and domestic first-class medical school, and the development concept of "high starting point, internationalization and crossover", the Institute strives to achieve leapfrog development with a global vision.
